RUNI, a San Francisco startup, is building a consumer
messenger app. Runi execs asked David to help develop a
product/market strategy to differentiate their product in
a crowded category. In addition, they asked him to design the
RUNI brand identity and develop UI concepts for their initial
release on Android.


David devised “Runi-Rewards” a unique rewards-system that
“pays” their customers to engage with the app. “Just-In-Time”
partner coupons are delivered to the user based on their geo-
location. The RUNI branding and UI concepts were developed in
parallel. The result, a fresh and very “sticky” user experience that
stands out from a very “me-too” and generic, messenger app category.
